I’M A BIT OF A PERFECTIONIST. THAT’S HOW I LIKE TO THINK OF MYSELF.
You might say; obsessed, quirky or, politely of course, crazy!
I try to eat food in even numbers if available (i.e. eat 2 jellybeans/peas/nutrigrains, at once) lol!!
I like my iTunes media to have all complete information – with cover art, and I have previously spent DAYS sorting it out to perfection!
I love TV shows, and I download episodes as soon as they air overseas.
I also LOVE to scout out filming locations from movies/TV shows to visit for when I travel.
I mean, I have hunted and poured through forums, Wikipedia, IMDb, and Google Maps, trying to find little known locations. One such time was when the James Bond film, Skyfall came out.
The part where Bond and M are parked on the side of the road, on their way to Bond’s childhood home, in particular was stunning. ‘I JUST HAVE TO GO THERE!!!!’ Was what went through my mind at the time.
Opportunity knocked, a couple of years later (June 2014), when visiting my parents in London. They were thinking of going up to Scotland…. Would I like to join them as well? – YES YES YEESSSS!!
So before they could blink, I was on my iPhone, finding the film locations of Skyfall, The Da Vinci Code, and of course Harry Potter.
We hired a car from Edinburgh for 4 days, and like a dictator, I told them where to drive.
To be honest, I felt a bit nervous at times, as I wasn’t 100% sure that these locations would be where they said they were. But when they were, I can’t tell you how happy I was! – we did pretty well:
THE DA VINCI CODE (near Rosslyn Chapel):
HARRY POTTER (Glenfinnan Viaduct):
HARRY POTTER (Loch Shiel):
SKYFALL (Glen Etive – Buachaille Etive Mor):
On the way to the ‘Skyfall’ location, we had Adele on full blast, and on replay. – In fact, we hardly ever stopped playing her songs during the trip!!
Even now when I hear her, it takes me straight back to that awesome road trip!
